We have been finding small brown snakes just like this picture in my house. Should I be frightened? Will they grow to much larger snakes? Does this mean there is a larger mom snake in my house? Should I call someone and who?

If this happens again, just use your mouth to cover the kitten or cats nose and inflate the lungs by using a small amount of air for a kitten. For a kitten, I recommend using less than about half the ammount of air your mouth will hold. Very small lungs wont hold much. Pressurize until you see the chest rise a little. Let that out and repeat process to re oxygenate. IT works, i've done it a number of times. Just like a child you have to inflate via the nose only. Remember when Nick fell out of the tree in the front yard? He could not get his breath for a while. When he did we heard a sound and he was heading for the house. Have you ever had the wind knocked out of you so badly you couldn't inhale? It feels like being kicked while someone holds a plastic bag over your mouth and nose. On feral animals such as road hit squirrels, you better hold the jaws shut! Then put them down as soon as they begin to come around. If you over inflate lungs, you can cause permanent injury or death. Its equal to inhaling from a dive tank under water, closing your throat and going up towards the surface. It will cause pulmanary issues.
Just my two cents from personal experience,
Love
